Ditch your old bag for a new one

by Heather on February 19, 2009

We all know plastic grocery bags suck. They’re bad for the environment and really don’t do a good job of containing purchases. I have lots of stairs in my house and there are nine steps that lead from the foyer to the kitchen. Those steps are a bitch when you have those nasty plastic bags digging into the meat of your fingers. Then the bags rip and cans of soup go tumbling down the stairs.

Most stores now have their own reusable grocery bags, of which I have many, but I am frequently forgetting them and wind up bringing plastic bags home anyway. Well, my friend Lyndsay over at Frugal and Fabulous is hosting a great giveaway for the eco-conscious shopper. She’s giving away a Tucker Bag to three of her lucky readers. I had never heard of Tucker Bags before today, but my goodness they are cute. And compact. Just fold them up, tuck them into the built-in pouch and slip one or two of them into your purse.

So go visit Lyndsay and try your luck. Who knows? This may be your lucky day.

I am a total bag convert and have been using these reuseable bags for about a year. I think the trick is to immediately put them back in the car after unloading the groceries or I never remember later on. I use them everywhere now. I do feel better about using less bags and it’s really adding up now. I will get to the giveaway too!
