It’s a sinus infection. I figured as much, though I had to fork over a $20 copay to have it confirmed. At least now I can start on some antibiotics to clear it up. Speaking of which, isn’t calling the prescription into the pharmacy supposed to alleviate some of the wait time I’d experience had I brought the slip of paper in myself? I’m just asking, because when I got to the store they had nothing for me.
I called the doctor’s office from my cell to ask what’s up and was told, “That’s strange, they usually call those in right away. I’ll have to leave a note for the doctor when he gets back from lunch.”
“So I’m not going to be able to pick this up now, then?” I asked.
“No,” she replied, “we don’t know what dosage he was going to perscribe.”
Shit. So now I have to wait until after work to pick up my meds. If you’re going to prescribe medication one has to take four times a day, wouldn’t you make sure the patient can get started on that ASAP? Again, I’m just asking.
I realize the delay won’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, but my inner bitch is sick and really cranky and she hates shoddy service, especially from medical professionals.
So while I didn’t get to leave the store with my amoxicillin, I did leave with a Diet Chery Chocolate Dr. Pepper. It was tasty in a weired sort of wrong way. Sort of like when you bite into a Palmer’s peanut butter cup and you can tell instantly it’s not a Reeses. You can taste chocolate and the cherry, but it’s just not supposed to go down that way.
