Colleen- the only reason that dog has lasted this long is our daughter. She loves Molly and it would break our hearts to have to answer questions regarding her whereabouts if we actually decided to find a “new place” for her. Believe me, I’ve been tempted many times!

I commend you guys for keeping Squeaks out of your bed for so long. We’ve let Autum sleep with us one too many times.

book_it, we learned the hard way not to let her in bed with us. We caved on several occasions and wound up getting no sleep. She’s a restless sleeper and tends to fling her limbs in our faces.

I swore from day one that Squeaks would never sleep in our bed. We tried it the other night out of sheer exhaustion. She sang for 2 hours and then told me she wanted back in her bed.

I also freak out about emptying a potty seat. Have you tried putting a step for Autumn in front of the toilet? Squeaks has one and she still gets the independence of getting up there by herself, but I don’t have to scrape crap out of a bowl this way!

We must have weird dreams on the same schedule, by the way. I posted about mind today!

I feel your pain…between the earlier rising of children and trying to keep them out of your bed so it doesn’t become a habit to the poop and potty training to the dog ruining your carpet. We are going to be boarding the grand potty train very soon….we have attempted before with no luck but it’s something that needs to be done. I swear, potty training is one my least favorite jobs of parenting young kids…but, I am getting very sick of changing diapers.

Good move on putting her back into her own bed. I had a brother/sister in-law who let their kids sleep with them. It took them forever to break that habit.
