It’s no secret that I hate daylight savings time. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the extra hour of daylight, but I dislike what the time change does to my child’s schedule. For some parents, the switch back to standard time is another adjustment their kids don’t handle well. But not for us. Not this year.
Yesterday morning I was treated to a most amazing sight. My daughter awoke on her own. She got out of bed on her own and she rather politely asked for some sausage. She didn’t kick or scream as Nathan dressed her and she only fussed a little bit as I brushed her hair. It was as if some benevolent species of pod people had taken control of her in order to spread sunshine and happiness. If this is what the switch back to standard time does to my kid, I may very well have to move to Arizona.
Speaking of sunshine, we’re enjoying a bit of that as well. It feels like late September here instead of early November. A month from today will mark one year since the fall on the icy driveway. That doesn’t seem possible.
I’m enjoying every bit of sunshine I can get. It’s keeping the snow away. For now.

Isn’t it a lovely election day?
We were really worried it would mess things up, but so far so good. So glad to hear things have gotten better for you.
